Women’s Society reminders for Conference

General Conference in Newberg, Oregon, is quickly approaching: July 29–August 4 at George Fox University. Our SDB Women’s Society President, Marjorie Jacob has these reminders:

• Bring or send your crafts to be sold at the Summer Christian Service Corps (SCSC) Craft Table.

• Bring or mail your local Ladies Aid annual report (60 copies) to distribute at the Women’s Society Luncheon and Annual Meeting. If necessary, you can mail one copy to Margie for her to make copies to take with her.

• Bring your SCSC and Love Gift offerings to the Women’s Banquet.

NABWU Assembly in September

An assembly of the North American Baptist Women’s Union (NABWU) will be held in Arlington, Va., from September 19-22. Here’s the pitch:

Join Christian women from across Canada, the U.S., and beyond for a “Communications Celebration” of inspiration, storytelling, and sistership. Women of all ages—members and non-members—will gather to share HIStory in our stories. The theme is “Come Hear—Go Tell.” (“We saw it, we heard it, and now we’re telling it.” 1 John 1:3)

Each woman who registers by June 15 saves $30 in registration fees. We are hoping many SDBs can attend.

New Women's Forum

The Seventh Day Baptist Women's Society, based in Florida, has just developed a new on-line discussion forum for women.

To access the forum, ladies may select our "Community" drop-down menu above and click on "Women's Resources." You will need to register and apply for membership in the SDB Women's Resource and Support group.

Historical Society Annual Meeting Upcoming!

This is just a brief reminder to all that the annual meeting of the Seventh Day Baptist Historical Society is less than two weeks away. The meeting will be held at the SDB Center, 3120 Kennedy Road, Janesville, WI, at 2:00pm on May 13th. All interested SDB's are invited to attend.

Members should have received proxy forms in the mail. If you are a member and have not received a proxy form, please contact us immediately (either by email or telephone) so we can get the document to you.

Please pray for the preparations for the meeting as well as the decisions that will be made during the weekend of the meeting. Thanks!
